PETALING JAYA (Bernama): The body of Muhammad Adib Mohd Kassim was flown by helicopter from Subang airport back to his hometown in Kedah at 7.30am Tuesday (Dec 18).
A postmortem was done early Tuesday at the National Institute of Forensic Medicine, Kuala Lumpur, said Selangor Fire and Rescue Department deputy director Hassan Asari Omar.
The last alarm ceremony would also be held for Muhammad Adib in Kedah.
The 24-year-old firefighter died at 9.41pm at the National Heart Institute (IJN) Monday (Dec 17) after he was allegedly beaten up by several people during the riots near the Sri Maha Mariamman temple in USJ25, Subang Jaya, on Nov 27.
He was part of operations to put out a fire in front of the temple.
Selangor deputy police chief Ab Rashid Ab Wahab said Muhammad Adib’s case, which was initially being investigated as attempted murder, would be reclassified and investigated as murder. – Bernama
