Body of firefighter Adib arrives home in Kuala Kedah


ALOR SETAR: The body of Muhammad Adib Mohd Kassim has arrived by helicopter at his hometown in Kampung Tebengau in Kuala Kedah here.

The 24-year-old firefighter's body was flown back from Kuala Lumpur in a Fire and Rescue Department helicopter which touched down at SK Tebengau at 10.30am.

His parents accompanied him in the helicopter

Two other helicopters had arrived earlier on Tuesday (Dec 18) bringing Housing and Local Government Ministry secretary-general Datuk Seri Mohammad Mentek, Fire and Rescue Department's director-general Mohamad Hamdan Wahid and deputy director-general (operation) Datuk Soiman Jahid.

The 24-year-old succumbed to his injuries after being seriously injured during last month’s Seafield Sri Maha Mariamman Temple riots. 

He passed away at 9.41pm at the National Heart Institute (IJN) on Monday (Dec 17).

His burial will take place after Zohor prayers on Tuesday.
