Malaysia Super League could make virtual comeback in FIFA video game

JOHOR BARU: The Malaysia Super League could make a return to the ever popular FIFA video game franchise after being absent for more than 20 years with the help of online voting.

The online voting is being carried out by FIFPlay, which is a platform for football gaming community to communicate with game developers to voice out what they want to see in the FIFA game series.

Malaysia Football League (MFL) chairman Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim, who is also the Tunku Mahkota Johor, urged local football fans and gamers to vote and make Malaysia Super League to be included in FIFA 2020.

He added that he was a big fan of the FIFA game series and said that he has been playing it since the first edition in 1994.

"There is now a vote to see which new league to introduce in FIFA 2020 and the Malaysia Super League is currently leading the poll.

"Guys, let's make this a reality and you'll have the pleasure of managing your favourite Malaysian club in FIFA20," he said in a post on his official Facebook page.

Checks by The Star found that Malaysia League is leading the poll from more than 78 football leagues around the world with 17 percent or 51,261 votes while Indonesian League is in second place with eight percent or 23,163 votes.

More than 300,000 people have already cast their votes at https://www.fifplay.com/fifa-20-leagues-vote/.
