GUA MUSANG: Police arrested nine foreign nationals who failed to produce valid passports and travel documents when stopped along the Kuala Lipis-Gua Musang road here on Monday (Aug 31).
Gua Musang OCPD Supt Sik Choon Foo said the men, all Bangladeshis, were arrested after their white multi-purpose vehicle was regarded as suspicious by police.
"They were detained by a team of personnel from the Bertam station at about 11.30am.
"Further inspection found that all the individuals, aged between 20 and 30, failed to produce valid passports or travel documents to prove their right to enter the country," he said in a statement on Tuesday (Sept 1).
He said the case would be investigated under Sections 55E, 6(1)(C) and 15(1)(C) of the Immigration Act 1959/63.
"We are currently conducting investigations to determine the immigration status of all the individuals concerned and looking into the possible involvement of other parties," he added. – Bernama
