Govt suspends vehicle permits of transport company for two weeks over tragic accident

PUTRAJAYA (Bernama): The Transport Ministry has ordered an immediate two-week suspension of the permits of 28 vehicles belonging to Syarikat Usaha Maju Trading Sdn Bhd, the transport company whose vehicle was involved in a tragic road accident that claimed five lives on Oct 6.

Minister Anthony Loke said on Monday (Oct 8) that the Land Public Transport Commission (SPAD) will issue the suspension notice to the company and the Road Transport Department (JPJ) has been instructed to ensure that all the 28 vehicles are at the depot during the period.
