Najib and Rosmah in court now


KUALA LUMPUR: Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor has arrived at the Kuala Lumpur Courts Complex here where she is expected to face money laundering charges while her husband and former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak is also here for his case mention.

Rosmah arrived at 8.28am Thursday (Oct 4) clad in an orange batik baju kurung with a matching selendang.

She was escorted by a heavy police presence but wore a warm smile on her face, her eyes downcast to avoid the flash of hundreds of cameras as she entered the court building.

There was a small band ofsupporters for Rosmah, who arrived in a black Toyota Alphard escorted by police and anti-graft officers.

After having spent a night in the MACC lock-up, Rosmah is expected to be charged with close to 20 charges under the Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Terrorism Financing and Proceeds of Unlawful Activities Act.

Datuk Seri Gopal Sri Ram and Ahmad Akram Gharib are the prosecution team, while the defence is being led by Datuk K. Kumaraendran and Datuk Geethan Ram Vincent.

On Wednesday, investigators decided to arrest the 66-year-old while she was giving her statement in her third meeting with the MACC.

Meanwhile, Najib arrived at 8.40am in a dark blue suit and a light blue shirt and was taken to the High Court for mention of one of his cases, involving criminal breach of trust and power abuse.

In total, Najib is facing some 32 charges including criminal breach of trust, abuse of power and money laundering of funds linked to 1Malaysia Development Bhd and its offshoot, SRC International Sdn Bhd.
