Cops looking for three men over launderette cat killing

PETALING JAYA: The police are looking for three men to aid investigations into the killing of a cat in a launderette in Gombak.

Gombak OCPD Asst Comm Samsor Maarof said that the three men were are between 30 to 40 years old.

"Those with information on their whereabouts are urged to contact investigating officer Insp Najmi at 017-929 1359," he said in a statement issued Thursday (Sept 13).

The incident, which took place about 12.30am on Tuesday (Sept 11), was captured on CCTV and uploaded onto Facebook.

Two men were recorded throwing a pregnant cat into a coin-operated dryer in a launderette in Taman Gombak Ria.

The now-viral video sparked outrage among animal lovers on social media, with many urging harsh punishment for the suspects.

The case is currently being investigated under Section 428 of the Penal Code, for mischief by killing or maiming animals.
