Two men killed after bridge collapses in Taman Serdang


ALOR SETAR  (Bernama): Two men were killed when they were buried under piles of rubble after a  bridge collapsed near Taman Serdang in Serdang on Monday (Sept 10) night.

Bandar Baharu district police chief DSP Barudin Wariso, in a brief statement, said the incident occurred at about 10.15pm and the victims were a motorcyclist and his pillion rider.

“However, their identities have yet to be ascertained,” he said.

It is learnt that the victims were buried under the rubble, following which firemen from the Serdang Fire and Rescue Station had been mobilised to the scene.

The first victim was found at 12.15am today and the second victim about five minutes later.

The bodies were then sent to Kulim Hospital for postmortem. - Bernama
