Broke and busted: Thai cops charge Malaysian with filing fake report about being robbed

CHIANG MAI (The Nation/Asia News Network): A Malaysian tourist in Thailand who claimed that he had been robbed has been charged with filing a false police report.

Thai police say the man, Pravin Krishnan, 20, admitted to lying because he had run out of money and needed an excuse for his parents in Malaysia to send him more.
