Chopper crashes in test flight at Subang airport

PETALING JAYA: A test flight took a turn for the worse when the pilot lost control and crashed a helicopter at the Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah airport in Subang.

In the 8.05am incident, two men, aged 59 and 70, were testing a helicopter, a Robinson R-66.

Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Zani Che Mat said that shortly after take-off, the pilot lost control.

“Thankfully, the aircraft was not too far off the ground and both men escaped with light injuries,” he said when contacted.

The crash did not disrupt the airport’s regular operations.
