PETALING JAYA: The Lawyers for Liberty wants Datuk Seri Wan Azizah Wan Ismail to explain why the Kelantan child bride was packed off to Thailand, with no prosecution against her “paedophile” husband.
Its Executive Director Latheefa Koya claimed that the child’s sudden dispatch to Thailand came as a shock to all concerned Malaysians and that it was hard to avoid the conclusion that there is no political will on the part of the Deputy Prime Minister to protect the child and bring the wrongdoer to justice.
