PUTRAJAYA: Authorities investigating the disappearance of Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 have said that the report released on Monday (July 30) is not the final one.
"This is not the final report. It would be presumptuous of us to say it is. This is because there are no victims or wreckage found. There must be closure," said safety investigation team head Datuk Kok Soo Chon.
He added that the 449-page Safety Investigation Report on MH370 released by the Malaysian ICAO Annex 13 safety investigation team was only on the safety investigation.
Kok said this is separate from search and judicial investigations, which are being conducted by other authorities.
On the safety investigation, Kok said the team could not rule out "unlawful interference" by a third party following an analysis of the behaviour and characteristics of the pilots.
He also said that apart from the crew, all passengers also had their profiles and background checked and they were given "a clean bill of health".
Earlier, the team gave a briefing to the Malaysian next-of-kin of passengers and crew.
A similar briefing will be held in Beijing on August 3.
MH370 disappeared on March 8 2014, en-route to Beijing with 239 on board.
