Xavier: Ministry may propose ‘shoot-on-sight’ policy to curb poachers

KUALA LUMPUR: Water, Land and Natural Resources Minister Dr Xavier Jayakumar said he was seriously considering bringing a shoot-on-sight policy for wildlife poachers for Cabinet deliberation.

The minister, who was attending a Global Tiger Day 2018 event organised by World Wildlife Fund (WWF) Malaysia, said this after the official screening of “On The Brink of Extinction”, a documentary on the decline of Malayan tigers.
