PETALING JAYA: Youth and Sports Minister Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman is full of praise for Indonesian president Joko Widodo after their meeting in Jakarta on Friday (July 13).
In a tweet, Syed said Joko, fondly known as Jokowi, was a "very good person" and very approachable.
"He called me 'bro'," shared the 25-year-old, adding emojis depicting a face with tears of joy and a peace sign.
In the tweet, Syed Saddiq said they both stressed on the need to enhance bilateral relations and to move forward as one.
The short video that accompanied his post saw Syed Saddiq revealing that Jokowi is "my idol, who is also idolised by the youth in Malaysia and Indonesia".
"There will be bumpy roads but in the end, we are one. #YouthPower," he added.
Syed Saddiq's meeting with Jokowi in Jakarta is part of his working trip to evaluate preparations for the 2018 Asian Games. It will take place in the Indonesian cities of Jakarta and Palembang from Aug 18 to Sept 2.
