PUTRAJAYA: Authorities are still probing to determine if there are any elements of sexual grooming in the relationship between the 11-year-old girl and a 41 year-old-man in Kelantan, said Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail.

She said that authorities were informed that there was still no documented evidence of the marriage having been conducted in Golok.

"My officers are working with other local enforcement agencies to look further into the case.

"This include whether there are any elements of sexual grooming in the relationship between the two of them before the supposed marriage.

"This is an offence under the Sexual Offences Against Children Act (2017)," she told reporters at the open house organised by the Women, Family and Community Development Ministry here Monday.

Dr Wan Azizah also confirmed that the Welfare Department had met with the 41-year-old man.
