PUTRAJAYA: Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong has paid a courtesy call on freshly-appointed Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

He arrived at Dr Mahathir's office at the Perdana Leadership Foundation at 11am Saturday (May 19).

While it is not known what the two leaders will discuss, the Kuala Lumpur-Singapore High Speed Rail project is expected to be among issues to be raised during the meeting.

Lee is the second Asean leader to call on the Prime Minister following Pakatan Harapan's victory in the recently concluded general election.

On May 15, Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah of Brunei paid a courtesy call on Dr Mahathir at the Perdana Leadership Foundation.

The Sultan was the first foreign head of state to pay a visit to Dr Mahathir, who was sworn in as the seventh Prime Minister on May 10.
