KLANG: Datuk Seri Azmin Ali was sworn in as Selangor Mentri Besar before state ruler Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah at Istana Alam Shah here Friday.

This is the PKR deputy president's second term as Selangor's top executive.

In addition to taking the oath as Mentri Besar, Azmin was also sworn into the Selangor Royal Council in the capacity of his state position.

Pakatan captured a large majority of state legislative assembly seats in GE14, winning 51 out of the 56 state legislative assembly seats.

The remaining four seats were won by Barisan Nasional, which has tremendously weakened the coalition's position in the state.

Another similar ceremony will be held on Monday to swear in the state's 10 executive councillors.

According to Pakatan sources, negotiations are ongoing among Pakatan coalition parties.

PKR is expected to get five out of the 10 positions followed by DAP with three.

Pribumi and Amanah are expected to get one seat each.
