Negeri MB wins unopposed as opponent denied entry into nomination centre

REMBAU: Three-term Rantau incumbent Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan (pic) has been returned unopposed as his sole challenger from Pakatan Harapan Dr Streram Sinnasamy failed to file his nomination papers after being denied entry into Dewan Sri Rembau.

Dr Streram was not allowed into the nomination centre as he did not have a candidate pass issued by the Election Commission.

The announcement was made by returning officer Amino Agus Suyub at 11.05am.

Amino had earlier announced the candidates for the Rembau parliament and Kota, Paroi and Chembong state seats.

However, he stopped the public announcement and returned 10minutes later to say that since Mohamad was the only one who had filed his papers at 9.02am, he won the seat uncontested.

Mohamad who is also state Barisan Nasional chief has served as Mentri Besar for three terms.
