Zahid beats election war drums in Johor

JOHOR BARU: Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has started beating the election war drums in Johor, saying that polls can be called at any time.

The Deputy Prime Minister said that he wanted Barisan Nasional to go all out to wrest the seats won by the Opposition in the state in the previous general election.

"We also want our candidates who won before to win with a bigger majority in the 14th General Election. Put aside all differences and issues, and work as a team to win big in Johor.

"This increased win will be a gift to Barisan chairman Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak," he said during the launching of the Johor Barisan Nasional election machinery in Pasir Gudang Friday (March 30).

The Opposition has five parliamentary and 19 state seats in Johor.

The state has 26 parliamentary and 56 state seats.
