Ramasamy: MACC asked about minutes of exco meeting over undersea tunnel

GEORGE TOWN: Dr P. Ramasamy says the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) questioned him about the minutes of executive council meetings that discussed the Penang undersea tunnel project.

“They wanted me to confirm the matters in the minutes of the meeting pertaining to the undersea tunnel project,” the Deputy Chief Minister II told the media here on Wednesday (Feb 14).

“I was also asked about the pre-qualification tender process which I am aware of, as it was tabled in exco meetings,” he said.

He said that he told MACC officials that he had been unaware of any issues pertaining to the project until they were reported in the media.

Ramasamy arrived at the Penang MACC office at 9am Wednesday with his lawyer Datuk Aljit Singh Jessy for questioning.

The MACC will continue questioning him and are expected to finish at around 5pm.
