PETALING JAYA: PKR’s Batu MP Tian Chua has been released from prison after serving a month-long jail term.

Tian Chua was greeted by supporters as he walked out of Kajang Prison at around 9am on Friday (Oct 27).

He was jailed after he withdrew his appeal before the Court of Appeal on Sept 29.

This was in relation to a charge of refusing a police order to leave the restricted Police Training Centre (Pulapol) area following the Bersih 3 rally in 2012.

He had appealed against the Kuala Lumpur High Court’s decision to uphold the Sessions’ Court sentence of one month’s jail and a fine of RM1,000.
