Sabah-based opposition


Parti Warisan Sabah (Warisan) is a Sabah-based Opposition party.

The party was formed on Oct 17, 2016, by former Umno vice-president Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal, who is the Semporna MP.

Others leaders who joined the party include Penampang MP Darell Leiking, who is party deputy president.

The three vice-presidents are Sulabayan assemblyman Datuk Jaujan Sambakong, Likas assemblyman Junz Wong and Organisation of Kadasan Dusun Murut Malaysia president Datuk Peter Anthony.

The party, formerly known as Parti Pembangunan Warisan Sabah (Sabah Heritage Deve­lopment Party), was established in 2013.

Approval for the new name and logo of the party was obtained from the Registrar of Societies on Oct 13 last year.

The establishment of the party was in preparation for the 14th general election.

Among others, the multiracial party is based on a concept owned by all races and its struggles are for all Sabahans.
