Duty calls, so firemen make sacrifices and stand by for emergencies


GEORGE TOWN: While Malaysians celebrated Hari Raya with their families and friends, our firemen were on duty, attending to distress calls so that the rest can have peace of mind.

Fireman Aswandy Mohamad, 37, was one such person. In between work, he would browse through family portraits on his handphone whenever he thought of his wife Marizianah Awang, 35, and his three children aged between four and nine.
