The real pain of dropping a phone in the toilet bowl

A Bangladeshi man had to endure almost four hours of pain after his left hand got stuck in a toilet bowl while trying to retrieve his mobile phone which dropped inside, reported Harian Metro.

The incident happened at a school in Bandar Baru Klang on Tuesday.

The 40-year-old man was carrying out wiring upgrade for the school’s Internet system.

Sungai Pinang district Fire and Rescue Department chief Zaidi Atan said eight officers took about three and a half hours to rescue him.

“Due to space constraints, we had to use special tools to break the concrete floor and cut through the pipe from below the floor,” he said.

Zaidi said the victim was not cooperative and kept shouting in pain before a medical team was called.

“He had to be sedated to ensure that we could do our job properly,” he said, adding that the victim was sent to Hospital Tengku Ampuan Rahimah for further treatment.

“He was not injured but was traumatised,” he added.
