Disabled duo shine despite setbacks


KUALA LUMPUR: Nur Izzati Hazwani Abdul Hadi, 23, could not contain her joy as she emerged from the 44th convocation of Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) with her degree scroll in hand.

She might appear to be just one of the over 6,000 fresh graduates that day, but Nurul Izzati’s journey to graduation was not smooth sailing. In fact, many did not expect her to get this far, considering she had learning difficulties in her younger years.
