Asean cops to discuss closer ties


KUALA LUMPUR: The 36th Asean Chief of Police (Aseanapol) Conference kicks off next Monday with discussions focused on closer cooperation in transnational crime and making the public feel more secure throughout the region.

Aseanapol Secretariat executive director Police Brigadier-General Yohanes Agus Mulyono said the conference, to be held from July 25 to 29, will be attended by all Chiefs of Asean National Police, dialogue partners and observers to discuss better strategies and efforts in combating transnational crimes.
