SHAH ALAM: A group of workers at a bakery here were left in the lurch after they were laid off with less than 24 hours notice given to them.
A group of some 60 people staged a protest outside the main entrance of the factory on Saturday, demanding proper compensation after being retrenched by High-5 Marketing Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of High-5 Consolidated Berhad.
