Mabul Island gets nation’s first solar-powered police station

KOTA KINABALU: The first-ever solar hybrid-powered police station was launched on Mabul Island off Semporna on Monday.

Bukit Aman Management Department director Datuk Seri Zulkifli Abdullah said the police station, now known as Island Forward Operation Base, is the first of its kind in the country and can reduce its expenditure on electricity by up to 75% compared to normal stations.
