PM Anwar holds phone call with Tamil Nadu chief minister Vijay

KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim on Friday (May 22) held a telephone conversation with Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay.

In a Facebook post, Anwar said he once again congratulated Vijay on the significant responsibility he was undertaking in serving the people of Tamil Nadu.

"I also informed him that I will be going to India this September to attend the BRICS Summit, as well as to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and if time permits, I may make a short visit to Tamil Nadu,” he said.

Anwar also prayed that Vijay would continue to be granted strength and wisdom to lead and administer effectively for the well-being of the people and the future of Tamil Nadu.

On May 12, Anwar was reported to have extended congratulations to his friend, who is also a South Indian film icon, on his appointment as Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, while expressing interest in fostering closer cooperation with the leader in the future.
