KUALA LUMPUR: Lawmakers will be free to debate the Public Accounts Committee's report on 1Malaysia Development Bhd.
Dewan Rakyat Speaker Tan Sri Pandikar Amin Mulia (pic) said Thusday that there will be no restriction to raise the issue in Parliament.
"The PAC has done its job and it is now up to lawmakers to consider what has been reported.
"If there is, for instance, something which is against the law, it is up to the authorities to take action," he told reporters at Parliament lobby.
He added that lawmakers are no longer bound by Standing Order 85, which prohibited them from raising the issue before the tabling of the PAC report.
Although there may not be enough time to raise the matter during the present sitting, which ends on Thursday, Pandikar said lawmakers could do so in the next sitting.
"They can bring it up like how it is done when the Auditor-General's Report is tabled," he added.
The PAC tabled its report on 1MDB on Thursday following completion of its probe which began in May last year.
