Putrajaya cat shelter under fire


At the back of the shelter is a grass covered enclosure for the cats to roam.


She advised against allowing the free-mingling between sick and healthy cats.

“When a lot of people dump their cats, it causes the problem to escalate. And they dump sick cats. Because there is no proper quarantine area, the illness spreads.

"There were quite a number of cats with flu,” she said, suggesting that the shelter have more full-time workers and consistent volunteers.

She complimented the shelter for providing the freedom of movement for the cats.

“The problem is a lack of medical attention given to the cats. Other than that, the place is beautiful. It is well maintained," she added.
