KUALA LUMPUR: The Government has not set a deadline for completion of the probe into 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB), the Prime Minister’s Department said on Monday.
Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Nancy Shukri (pic) said the special task force on 1MDB is still in the midst of completing its investigations as the case involves many witnesses and documents.
“The investigations will be completed once the testimonies of all witnesses have been recorded and the relevant documents are obtained.
“As the case involves many witnesses and documents, including those that are currently located overseas, no deadline has been set for the completion of investigations,” Nancy said in a written reply to Datuk Zainudin Ismail (BN-Jelebu) at the Dewan Rakyat.
Asked if the final report of the probe would be presented to Parliament, Nancy said that the special task force would hand over its findings to the Attorney-General for further action.
The special task force investigating 1MDB was set up earlier this year, comprising the AG’s chambers, police force, Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission, and Bank Negara.
