PETALING JAYA: Only 3% of child pillion riders wore proper safety gear, the first study looking into the use of helmets among children in Malaysia revealed.
Universiti Putra Malaysia Safe Kids Malaysia executive director Assoc Prof Dr Kulanthayan K.C. Mani said from 200 adult riders interviewed in Klang, Selangor, 37% of their child pillion riders wore helmets meant for adults.
