KUCHING: Sarawak Barisan Nasional fully backs Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, said Tan Sri Adenan Satem.

The Sarawak Chief Minister reiterated support for Najib during a press conference here on Monday when asked about the stinging criticisms by former premier Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad against the Prime Minister.

"All I can say is the Barisan component parties, especially those in Sarawak and Sabah, are all the way with the Prime Minister," Adenan told reporters after an anti-corruption event at the Sarawak Legislative Assembly.

"We have already done so (announced support for Najib) during the last (Barisan) Supreme Council meeting in KL," he added, referring to a joint statement issued last month by party component chiefs.

Adenan declined to speak further on the matter, turning his attention to the day's event.

Dr Mahathir had upped his criticism claiming that Barisan could lose the 14th general election if Najib remained as premier.
