Decomposed body of pensioner found in Vista Angkasa apartment

KUALA LUMPUR: The decomposed body of a woman, believed to have died two to three days ago, was found in a Vista Angkasa Apartment unit along Bukit Kerinchi here.

A security guard said that neighbours last saw the 54-year-old pensioner three days ago on the second floor of the apartment block where she lived.

He alleged that her body was later found by family members who visited the apartment at about 9.45pm on Saturday after failing to hear from her for three days.

"Unable to get a response from her, they contacted the police who had to enter the unit by way of force entry.

"A strong stench filled the air as soon as they broke into the apartment.

"They found her lying lifeless in the bedroom," he added.

Police left the scene around midnight and had sent the body to the Universiti Malaya Medical Centre for an autopsy.

Brickfields deputy OCPD Supt Aida Abdul Hamid said the case has been classified as sudden death.

"She was suffering from several diseases and was living alone. Police found medication all around the apartment," she added.

It is believed that the deceased was the sister-in-law of Deputy Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Mohd Bakri Zinin.
