Bukit Gelugor by-election: Ramkarpal leading the pack in early results (Updated)

GEORGE TOWN: Official results obtained at the Dewan Sri Pinang, Sunday show DAP’s Ramkarpal Singh secure in the lead with a 21,659 vote majority.

The results tallied from the first 90 ballot boxes indicate Ramkarpal as having secured 24,138 votes.

Parti Cinta Malysia vice-president Huan Cheng Guan received 2,479 votes, while independent candidates Mohamed Nabi Bux Mohd Nabi Abd Sathar and Abu Backer Sidek Mohamad Zan gained 594 and 153 votes respectively.

As of 8.35pm, 90 of the 144 ballot boxes have been tallied.
