A DAMAGED roof affecting 11 classrooms at SK Batu Lancang in Penang has finally been fully repaired with funds from Bukit Gelugor MP Ramkarpal Singh.

He allocated RM49,590 to repair the damage which had disrupted lessons for several months.

“The repairs were completed recently,” Ramkarpal told a press conference at the school which has 900 pupils, 65 teachers and 31 classrooms.

Also present were Deputy Education Minister Lim Hui Ying and Pakatan Harapan’s Air Itam candidate Joseph Ng.

The VIPs inspected the repairs and improvements done on the ceilings and roof at the school after speaking to the media.

Meanwhile, Ng told reporters that the school had approached him earlier for funds and he had referred the matter to Ramkarpal.

Ng said the 5.7km Ayer Itam-Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu Expressway Bypass (Package Two), which is being built, would resolve most of the traffic woes in Ayer Itam.

“The expressway is now over 40% completed and is scheduled for completion in 2025,” he added.
