KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak held discussion with ministers and relevant senior officials on the search area pertaining to the missing Malaysia Airlines (MAS) Flight MH370.

“Discussing the search for MH370 with (Acting Transport Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein) Minister Hishammuddin Hussein and (Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Anifah Aman) Minister Anifah Aman this morning.

“Also present to give clarification in our search area – which has expanded to 2.24 million square miles – were chiefs of the armed forces, the air force, the police, DCA (Department of Civil Aviation) and MAS,” Najib said in a Facebook posting.

The discussion was held at his office in Parliament House.

During the session, Najib also shared a picture which included him with Hishammuddin, Anifah, Armed Forces chief Gen Tan Sri Zulkifli Mohd Zin and Royal Malaysian Air Force chief Gen Tan Sri Rodzali Daud.

British Prime Minister David Cameron has also offered further support. In a telephone call to Najib yesterday evening, Cameron expressed his heartfelt sympathy for the families and friends of the passengers and crew onboard.

“Cameron sent a personal message of sympathy to Najib, a day after the aircraft’s disappearance,” the British High Commission said in a statement yesterday. — Bernama
