KAJANG: MCA president Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai urged everyone to be sensitive to the feelings of families affected by the Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 that went missing since Saturday.

He said certain quarters were using the incident to gain political mileage in the run-up to the March 23 by-election.

“Be ethical and responsible because the family members of the passengers and crew on board the missing flight are going through a very difficult time now.

“Don’t politicised and take advantage of the situation to hit out at the government,” Liow said after visiting polling stations here on Friday.

Liow said he was glad to see that most Kajang residents were supportive of the government's efforts in the search of the Boeing 777 airplane.

He said the MCA slowed down its campaigning and divert its resources to assist the next of kin of victims who are waiting for news of the plane at the KL International Airport.

“We hold special prayer sessions and we have stationed our Crisis Relief Squad members, translators, doctors and counselors to provide emotional support and daily help,” he said.

Liow added MCA members were prepared to be sent to China if assistances were needed there.
