Condominium management chairman charged with CBT amounting to RM320,000

KUALA LUMPUR: A condominium management chairman claimed trial before a Sessions Court here to misappropriating more than RM320,000 in company funds.

Yong Chee Keen, 38, was charged on Wednesday with two counts of committing criminal breach of trust while in his position as company chairman of the Savana Condominium Joint Management Body (JMB).

He is accused of misappropriating RM244, 350 between Nov 24, 2011 and Nov 21, 2012 and another RM75,2000 between Dec 8, 2012 and March 7, 2013.

Both crimes are alledged to have occured at the Savana Condominium JMB offices on Jalan 1/155A, Bukit Jalil, here.

Under Section 409 of the Penal Code, Yong faces a maximum 20 years jail sentence, whipping and a fine, if convicted.

Yong was represented by counsel C. W. Chan, while DPP Haderiah Siri acted for the prosecution.

Judge Murtazadi set bail at RM50,000 with one surety and fixed Feb 21 for next mention.
