GOMBAK: Malaysian toll highway concessionaires have been told to step up their environmental conservation efforts and obtain MS ISO: 14000 certification as proof of their commitment.
Malaysian Highway Authority (MHA) director-general Datuk Ismail Md Salleh said that while operators currently had to obtain an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) report before building new expressways, it still left the question of the impact of other elements in the long run.
