Johor BN to launch state polls machinery this weekend


JOHOR BARU: Barisan Nasional chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi is set to launch its machinery for the upcoming Johor state election this weekend.

Johor Umno information chief Israk Abdullah said the launch would take place at Educity Stadium in Iskandar Puteri at 3.30pm on Sunday (June 7).

He urged supporters to attend the launch to show their solidarity for state leaders who have brought stability, prosperity and development to Johor.

The Johor legislative assembly was dissolved on Monday, paving the way for the 16th state polls.

Following the 15th state election on March 12, 2022, Barisan formed the state government after winning a supermajority of 40 out of 56 seats, while Pakatan, Perikatan Nasional and Muda won 12, three and one seats respectively.
