PERTH: The Education Ministry will study the Western Australian model of an intensive English course in efforts to improve the command of the language among Malaysian students.
Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said, in that Australian region, immigrant children between the ages of seven and nine, and whose main language was not English, were sent for a year's intensive English course before continuing with their studies in public schools.
