KUALA LUMPUR: A general worker who tried to scare a supervisor by placing a plastic bag containing a 2.74m long python in front of the latter’s house in Bandar Tun Razak has been arrested.
Cheras police chief Asst Comm Mohan Singh said in the 9.40pm incident on Friday, the supervisor saw the 22-year-old man placing the plastic bag in front of his house on the eighth floor of the PPR flats before trying to flee the scene.
“The 28-year-old supervisor went after the suspect and managed to catch him before handing him over to the police,” he said yesterday.
The man is being investigated under Section 289 of the Penal Code for negligence with respect to animals.
The offence is punishable with a jail term of up to six months or a maximum RM2,000 fine or both.
The snake, weighing almost 5kg, was handed over to the Department of Wildlife and National Parks.
