Report missing persons earlier

GEORGE TOWN: Don’t wait 24 hours before lodging a missing person’s report, a police officer told a seminar on child abduction here.

ASP Faridah Shariff Husain, from the state police headquarters, told parents and guardians to immediately lodge a police report if they had reason to believe their child had been abducted.

She said Malaysians seemed to have the misconception they had to wait 24 hours probably because of the foreign television crime shows they watched.
