KUALA LUMPUR: Police have arrested 11 people in connection with the alleged Aug 29 abduction of suspected crime king pin Bangsar Shan.
The men were picked up within a week after a police report was lodged about the abduction, said Criminal Investigations Department Director Comm Datuk Seri Mohd Bakri Zinin.
“On Tuesday, his wife handed a memorandum to an officer in Bukit Aman claiming the police were slow to try and locate her husband.
“She also claimed that police officers were behind his disappearance.
“This is not true and we will never act in any way above the law of this country,” he said.
Comm Bakri said he was instructed by Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Musa Hassan to set up a taskforce headed by the Kajang OCPD and Selangor CID chief to investigate Bangsar Shan’s disappearance.
He said they were also investigating the victim’s and the suspects activities which suggested an involvement in organised crime.
He said they were unsure if Bangsar Shan was still alive, but police were looking for four men to assist in their investigations.
They are K.Vasudevan, 37, P.Murali, 24, M.Sujendran, 25 and Hardeep Singh, 23.
