KUANTAN: Two fishermen from Johor drowned while another went missing when their trawler sank in choppy waters off Pulau Tokong Burung, Rompin.
The dead were identified as skipper Heng Wah Hui, 30, from Yong Peng and Hamizun Yahya, 33, from Endau.
Heng's body was found by fishermen at 2pm while Hamizun's body one hour later, said Rompin police chief DSP Johari Jahya.
He said a search and rescue party was still looking for the missing fisherman, Jabar Samit Sultan, 53, from Endau.
Another fisherman, Mohd Yusof Awang Aziz, 35, who was adrift was plucked to safety by a passing ferry, he said.
He said the boat which went out to sea on Wednesday was said to have sunk at about 1.30am as it was turning back when the sea turned rough. Bernama.
