KUALA LUMPUR: The Barisan Nasional’s whip held in the voting for the two Deputy Speakers when its candidates were elected to the posts while the Opposition’s choice was defeated.

Datuk Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar (BN – Santubong) polled 157 votes, which meant some of the Opposition MPs also voted for him, because Barisan only had 140 MPs.
