Taking over well-maintained buildings will send wrong signal

PENANG: The acquisition of well-maintained and properly used buildings for arts and heritage purposes will send a wrong message to the public. 

Tourism Development and Environment Committee chairman Teng Chang Yeow said: “I don’t feel comfortable with the Government’s move to acquire heritage buildings as it gives the public, especially building owners, a false impression.”
