LOCAL Malay novelist Ariffin Ngah is now paralysed in one leg after his pet cat bit him, Utusan Malaysia reported.

Ariffin, 66, who won the Darul Iman literature award for his writings, said he was bitten on the right leg by his cat Si Putih in April last year while he was about to perform his Subuh prayers at his house in Kuala Terengganu. “Blood oozed out and I wrapped the wound with a piece of cloth and thought nothing of it because I was late for my prayers. But a week later, my leg felt numb and began to swell,” he added.
